You are not alone

When something doesn't feel
quite right.

You've searched online. You've asked questions. You've been told to "wait and see."

But your instincts keep telling you something is different.

We believe parents know their children better than anyone. Our role isn't to dismiss those concerns — it's to listen carefully, evaluate thoughtfully, and help you understand what may be contributing to your family's challenges.

We're Here to Listen — Book Now

A different way to look at health

Everything begins with
the nervous system.

The nervous system coordinates everything your body does — from movement and digestion to sleep, feeding, growth, and your ability to adapt to stress.

When it's functioning well, children often have an easier time adapting to the demands of life.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we evaluate how the nervous system is functioning and how it may be influencing the way your body — or your child's body — is adapting. Our care is gentle, specific, and tailored to each stage of development.

"Our goal isn't just to help you feel better. It's to help your family function better."

From stress toward resilience. From uncertainty toward confidence. From simply getting through each day — to enjoying it more fully.

Step One

We listen first — always.

Every family has a story. Your first visit begins with a thorough, unhurried conversation. We take time to understand yours — your pregnancy, your baby's patterns, your child's history — before anything else.

Step Two

Gentle, specific care for every stage.

From Webster Technique support during pregnancy to the lightest fingertip touch for a newborn — every technique is calibrated to your body and your baby's developmental window, never a one-size approach.

for your family.

Because when families find the right support, everything starts to shift.

"Because when the nervous system functions well, families often experience more than changes in how they feel — they experience greater capacity to adapt, connect, and thrive."

A child who feels good in their body
Regulation supports a child's ability to focus, adapt, connect, and engage with their world — not just get through it.

You deserve answers.
Not pressure.

We believe you deserve answers, not pressure. You deserve to feel heard. A calm, educational approach that empowers you as a parent — not one that overwhelms you with jargon or rushes you toward decisions.

The people behind the practice

Two doctors. One mission.
Your family's whole health.

Drs. Jess and Josh Burckhard have spent 20 years doing one thing: helping families thrive. They built three thriving practices in New York, relocated to Arizona after the pandemic, and brought their passion for pediatric and perinatal care to Gilbert — where they've been caring for families for the past four years.

Dr. Jessica Burckhard

Doctor of Chiropractic · CACCP · Webster Certified

Mother. Wife. Chiropractor. Dr. Jess has focused her practice on mothers and children for two decades — and it shows in every appointment. Her care is gentle, unhurried, and deeply personal. She doesn't just adjust spines; she listens to families, meets them where they are, and helps them understand what their body needs — and supports them in getting there.

She holds the CACCP certification — one of the highest levels of clinical expertise in chiropractic pediatrics — and has supported hundreds of pregnant mothers through Webster Technique care. Outside the office she's a mama to Hudson and Bodhi, a runner, a hiker, and someone who genuinely loves what she does.

Dr. Joshua Burckhard

Doctor of Chiropractic · CACCP · Webster Certified

Father. Husband. Chiropractor. Dr. Josh brings a rare combination of clinical depth and genuine wonder to every family he cares for. He is amazed daily that two cells meet and replicate over the course of pregnancy to form a beautiful baby — and he takes that miracle seriously in his work.

His philosophy: cultivate trust, remove barriers to healing, and help families function at their best over time. He knows that keeping a child's nervous system functioning optimally can change the trajectory of their entire life. Fun fact: his first trip to Arizona was in 2002 as part of the Colorado Rockies Spring Training organization.

Common Questions

What families ask us most

If something isn't covered here, just call or send us a message. We love talking to families before they ever walk through the door.

We see babies from hours old. Some of our youngest patients were adjusted the same day they were born. The birth process — even a smooth one — places real forces on a baby's neck, spine, and cranial bones. Early evaluation gives us the chance to identify and address tension patterns before they show up as feeding difficulties, sleep issues, or fussiness.

Our adjustments for newborns use no more pressure than you'd use to check the ripeness of a tomato. Gentle, specific, and safe.

Yes — and this is one of the areas we're most passionate about. Latch difficulty is often rooted in tension in the baby's neck, jaw, or cranial bones that affects their ability to open wide, center the tongue, and create suction. These are neurological and biomechanical issues, not a reflection of anything you're doing wrong.

We work with many families who have already seen lactation consultants. Our role is to address the underlying tension in the baby's body that makes a good latch mechanically difficult. Many families notice a difference within a few visits.

Yes. Both Dr. Josh and Dr. Jess are Webster Technique certified and have over 20 years of experience working with pregnant patients. We use a specially designed table that accommodates a growing belly, and every adjustment is modified for the stage of pregnancy.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is not just safe — for many women it makes a meaningful difference in how they feel, how their pelvis functions, and how their body prepares for birth. We work with mamas from the first trimester through the postpartum period.

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment protocol designed to reduce sacral subluxation and improve neurobiomechanical function in the pelvis during pregnancy. When the pelvis is balanced and the nervous system is communicating clearly, pregnancy is more comfortable, the baby has optimal room to move and position, and the body is better prepared for birth.

Both Dr. Josh and Dr. Jess are Webster Technique certified through the ICPA — the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Webster Technique is commonly sought by families navigating breech presentation. By reducing tension in the pelvis and supporting optimal neurobiomechanical function, we create the conditions in which a baby has the best opportunity to find their ideal position. We never manipulate the baby directly — we work with the mother's pelvis and nervous system.

We recommend coming in as early as possible if positioning is a concern. The earlier we can support pelvic balance, the more time and space your baby has to move.

An initial care plan is a structured, time-defined plan recommended after your first evaluation. Visits are more frequent and focused on bringing the nervous system to a new functional baseline. It has a beginning, a middle, and a defined endpoint — including a re-exam so we can assess your progress together.

Wellness care is what comes after. It's ongoing maintenance for patients who have completed a care plan and want to keep their nervous system functioning at its best. Wellness visits are shorter, less frequent, and focused on maintaining what we've built — not addressing a complaint. Many of our families have been in wellness care for years.

Yes. Once a family member has completed their initial care plan, they're eligible to join our Family Wellness Plan — a simple monthly arrangement that covers ongoing wellness visits for everyone on the plan. It's month-to-month with no contracts, one charge for the whole family, and care with either Dr. Josh or Dr. Jess.

Ask us at the front desk for details. We'll walk you through everything.

We are a direct-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide a superbill for patients who wish to submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many families find that the transparency and simplicity of direct pay works well for them — no surprise bills, no claim delays, and no limits on the care we recommend.

Your first visit begins with a thorough, unhurried intake. We want to understand your history, your goals, and what's brought you in — whether that's a pregnancy, a new baby, a growing child, or a family wanting to stay well together. From there we do a full evaluation, modified as needed for pregnancy or pediatric patients, and walk you through what we find in language that actually makes sense.

We'll recommend a care plan based on what we see and answer every question you have before you leave. No pressure, no rushing, no mystery.
